CLINICAL & PREVENTION
Next Meeting: April 8, 3-4 pm. Chairs: Ally Murji & Clarel Antoine
This subcommittee would like to collect protocols and clinical checklists that programs are willing to share. This can be used both to develop a paper on the topic as well as a member resource. Input from non-OB specialties is encouraged.
The Imaging Subcommittee goals are to solicit research ideas that will expand the knowledge and understanding of prenatal imaging of placenta accreta spectrum. We will develop and maintain imaging markers of PAS and determine their utility in predicating PAS and pregnancy outcomes.
As our first order of business, we are embarking on one main project: review existing imaging nomenclature and determine if they are appropriate to adopt moving forward.
We welcome anyone interested in prenatal imaging of PAS to join
BASIC & TRANSLATIONAL SCIENCE
The Basic and Translational Science Subcommittee goals are to solicit research ideas that will expand the knowledge and understanding of pathophysiology, science, and biology associated with placenta accreta spectrum, and to develop and maintain a recommended universal manual of operations
for PAS-related biospecimen collection.
As our first order of business, we are embarking on two main projects: developing a template and process for project proposals and developing a manual for specimen collection to ensure universal standard method of tissue preparation and storage.
We would love to welcome anyone who has expertise in tissue collection to participate in manual development!
The committee has discussed building a clinical literature database and developing content for the web site. There is room to build sub-committees based on clinical areas of interest – thus far Anesthesia has assembled, and Mental Health is in the works. Please check on-line for upcoming meeting dates.
Chair(s): Meena Khandelwal & Jen Gilner
This group meets monthly to discuss advances in anesthesia management for PAS and to plan collaborative research across centers. We’re discussing the role of the anesthesiologist in risk assessment and pre-delivery planning; transfusion management; vascular access; mode of anesthesia; and critical care management. Anesthesiologists and non-Anesthesiologists welcome!
